William “Bill” Daniel Grady, age 80, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on December 23, 2021. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on September 20, 1941 to William C. and Dixie Mae Grady. In 1951 the family moved to Las Vegas. He served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. William married the love of his life Carol Schwab in September 1966. They celebrated 55 wonderful years together.
William spent his entire career in the gaming industry. He began working at the Stardust and then spent over 40 years at Jerry’s Nugget, starting as a Keno Writer and retired as Assistant Casino Manager. Bill volunteered for over a decade as a camp counselor at St. Viator Catholic School Science Camp teaching activities such as riflery and survival, even after his own children had graduated from high school.
Bill will always be remembered for his warm smile and quick wit. He loved hosting family weekend dinners where he could try out new recipes, which always ended with family game night. Bill had a love for the ocean. He and his family spent many vacations on Catalina Island and in Oceanside, California.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol Grady; two sons Patrick (Sarah) Grady, Sean (Melanie) Grady; four grandchildren Corbin, Ian, Bridget and Cailin. He was preceded in his passing by his parents William C. and Dixie Mae Grady, sister Sharon Pierson, and brother Benjamin Kirk.
Celebration of his life will be held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 1:20. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice in the name of William D. Grady.
