William Lawrence Roy "Larry" age 78 of Boulder City passed away on the morning of May 21, 2013. He was born in San Pedro, California to William and Dorothy Davis Roy on November 17, 1934. He moved to Boulder City in 2003 from Torrance, California after retiring as a steel rigger. He married Ruth Larsen on February 13, 2008 in Las Vegas.
Larry had a passion for guns and belonged to many different gun clubs including the Rod and Gun Club of Compton, CA, The California Pigeons, The Pro gun Club of Boulder City, and Cedar City Trap Club in Utah. He was an excellent marksman and won many awards, buckles, and trophies. At Torrance High School he was a four year letterman in four different sports. He was on the 1963 and 1964 world champion fast pitch softball team. He was an avid golfer and very active in the community in organizations like the Elks. He mentored and coached many young men in Babe Ruth, Pony, and high school baseball.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Larsen of Boulder City; five children Don (Jerry) Roy, Kakie (Gregg) Mather, Jim (Becky) Roy, Richard (Laura) Roy, Jennifer Johnson; two step children Rick (Joslyn) Larsen, Raella (Jerry Frame) Bodinus; two brothers Clifford Roy, Kenny Roy; a sister Juanita Beal; and 15 grandchildren.
