On November 13, 2016 William (Bill) F. Schmidt, died after battling colon cancer at the Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, NV.
Bill was born in St. Paul MN, attended St. Bernard’s Catholic School and Cretin High; served in the Army during the Korean War; retired from the St. Paul, MN Postal Service and lived happily in Cottage Grove, MN for over 32 years before moving to Henderson and North Las Vegas, NV. Bill was an active member of Cottage Grove’s VFW post and worshipped at St. Rita’s Catholic Church.
Bill is survived by his adoring daughter Linda Schmidt, his chosen daughter Pam Parrish, loving brothers, sisters and relatives Jerry Schmidt, Fred Schmidt with Kaye Kraft, Gerry Lou Turnquist, Mary (ne Schmidt) (Wayne) Pingley, cousin Helen LaBelle, along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding his death is his beloved wife of 57 years Dorothea (Dorothy) M. Schmidt, his adored parents Fred J. and Josephine Schmidt, many aunts, uncles, sister-in-laws Darlene and Mildred Schmidt, and niece Christine Sells.
There will be no viewing. Bill’s service will be held at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV on December 1, 2016 at 10:00 am. Upon completion of the service, Bill and Dorothy will be forever interred in one of the cemetery’s wall niches with the plate reading:

Dorothea M. Schmidt 1932 – 2010 Together Forever OLOLA
