William Smith

William Russell Smith (Big Russ), 56, passed away on Wed. Jan 30, 2013 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Oct. 13, 1956 in Shelbyville, TN.

Big Russ lived in Illinois for several years before moving to California, and Las Vegas finally settling in Boulder City, NV. He worked for a short time at Railroad Pass, before going to work at the Gold Strike as a Sou Chef then Executive Chef for The Gold Strike. He also worked at St Judes Ranch cooking for the children, before he opened up Big Russ's Pizzeria. He later then took a job offer at the Hacienda as Executive Chef and moved his Pizzeria into the food court at the Hacienda too, after a year he was then offered the Executive Chef at Wendover Nugget after years working out there he decided it best to move him and Susan back to Boulder City taking the manager position of the Gingerwood Mobile Home Park, and to be closer to his grandkids.

Big Russ is survived by his spouse Susan Davis; three children William RC "Lil Russ" (Tambra) Smith, daughter Heather (Jesse) Atkinson, and Angela Brittiney (Tom) Smith; two brothers Tom Reed, Timmy (Sylvia) Reed; four sisters Ramona Reed, Donna Richardson, Missy Rose, Kelly Huffstedler; four grandchildren Kyler and Kayla Smith, Damian and Drake Smith, and an large extended family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Grace Community Church 1150 Wyoming St. Boulder City at 1:00pm and a visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the service. Condolences may be left at www.boulderrcityfamilymortuary.com
